New Design 2015 Tesla Model X Review, Price and Release Date

New 2015 Tesla Model X reviews and models. Get more information about 2015 Tesla Model X with price, specs and release date for US, UK, Canada and Australia. The 2015 Tesla Model X is an all-new vehicle that’s coming to the dealers at the end of 2014 as a 2015 year model. This mid-size crossover SUV was built upon the Tesla S platform and there will be many powertrain parts that will be shared between these two vehicles.

Model X will use either 60 kWh or 85 kWh lithium-ion battery packs and two motors, one on each axle, giving it all-wheel drive. It is clear that bigger and longer X will use more energy than S model, but how much, it is still not certain. Tesla engineers will have to do their best in order for it to have more than 200 miles of range. Smaller battery pack is hardly supposed to do that, as it will probably be just shy of that number, while larger 85 kWh unit should yield some 240 miles of all-electric range. These are still pretty great results even we do expect to see about 10 to 15 percent mileage drop.

Tesla’s main advantage is fast recharging and, with growing number of Tesla recharging stations, this brand is slowly, but steadily becoming a worthy competitor. The 2015 Tesla Model X is supposed to achieve 0 to 60 mph in only 4.4 seconds with optional performance package. There isn’t many crossovers SUV’s that can compete with this amount of power and acceleration that Tesla delivers.

As it shares the same body with its sibling Tesla Model S, Model X will have the same width, but will be higher and longer. It has the same plain open-mouth grille and small headlights that S model has, but comes with long arching roofline and cut-off rear end finish. That rear end resembles some of larger sedans on the market and that is a byproduct of sedan-based body. Most unique part of this SUV are falcon-wing doors at the rear which open vertically and allow easy access to second and third row, but completely remove roof rails.

Interior is going to be premium with only the best materials you can find, including leather, metallic accents and wood trim. It can already be seen that third row of seats will suffer from both lack of headroom and legroom. Dashboard will come with simple HD color display instead of regular gauges, and with an 17” touch screen in the middle. Panoramic roof will stretch all the way to the spoiler, leaving great rear visibility for the driver, but making third row passengers even more uncomfortable. Safety features include airbag system, HD rearview camera, crash sensor, cruise and stability control and many more active electronic features.

There are supposed to be two versions of 2015 Tesla Model X, and those would be base model and one with performance package. Base X model should cost around $71,000, while the upgrade should raise the price to $96,000. Deposits will be $5,000 and $40,000, respectively. Have in mind that the 2015 Tesla Model X will offer premium and luxury interior in combination with great looks and zero emission powertrain that offers great performances.
